Remote work, a buyout, and 50,000 certifications

We know there are many exciting language assessment solutions you can choose from. Whether you’ve just joined us in 2020 or have been with us since the beginning, we are thrilled you have chosen Pipplet. As we look to close out yet another calendar year, let's take a look back at some of the most notable milestones at Pipplet.

100% Remote Work

From the beginning, we wanted to make sure our company infrastructure was flexible enough to respond to rapid changes that could cause our team to work under varying conditions. In the wake of COVID-19, we were fortunate enough to be able to switch to 100% remote work without any significant structural limitations. Though, as some might agree, the reality of telecommuting was a little less idyllic than we were expecting.

After four solid months of complete work from home under strict lockdown, we felt that morale slowly began to take a dip. Tasks that once were driven by team work slowly became more complicated, lacking those meaningful interactions and exchanges we had thrived on.

So, what did we do?

We began setting up more informal exchanges that brought back the fun, even while at home. These exchanges gave the illusion of a quick coffee and chat or witty office humor. We had found a rhythm that worked! Our three preferred solutions:

  • Discord voice channels. This platform allows us to stay connected all day, creating a space for fluid discussions rather than having to organize calls.
  • Informal exchanges and engaging discussions where our team is given the space to share about subjects that bring them fulfillment, and they can impart that knowledge and joy to the team.
  • Work Adventure, a cute and fun virtual office space platform that has turned out to be very efficient for our team communication.

Pipplet acquired by ETS Global, distributor of the TOEICⓇ and TOEFLⓇ

We finalized discussions with ETS Global, a subsidiary of the ETS Group, creators of the tests TOEICⓇ and TOEFLⓇ. The acquisition was a momentous occasion for the team. It aligns perfectly with our growth goals and reinforces our legitimacy in the global language assessment market. We couldn’t be more pleased with the response from our clients and the transition of our team.

But, our new adventure takes on an entirely new dimension now. With the support of a major company like ETS Global and ETS, we are en route to becoming the reference language test for recruitment, worldwide.

Thanks to all our customers and partners and a special thank you to all our team past and present: Camille, Guénolé, Alexander, Nada, Charlène, Camille (the second), Carl, Masha, Luis, Jo, Clarisse, Mathieu, Rémi, Émily, Matias, Kritika, Camille (the third), Saskia, Logan, Miranda, Louis, Alexandre, Sarah and Carine.

50,000 certifications

Despite the global challenges of 2020, we’re truly humbled by your ongoing trust and support. We could not have tripled our growth without you. Because of you, we have candidates and clients from all over the world, on 5 continents, who receive our certification - just wow!

Our tests are primarily used as a tool to help recruitment professionals in their hiring process, most notably in the customer service and commercial sectors. We pride ourselves on being a simple (but powerful!) online language testing solution suitable for the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) looking for German-speaking sales representatives, all the way to the large corporations or major consulting firms recruiting hundreds of candidates at one time, in a variety of languages. The diversity of our clientele challenges us to improve, each day, our services and increase our value to you.

So, we tip our hats off to another great year. Wishing you all a safe and warm holiday season and a happy Near Year -

Let’s attack 2021 keeping the same momentum!
