2020 was a notable year for us as we honor a milestone - Pipplet’s 5-year anniversary. On September 14, 2015, co-founders, Adrien, Baptiste, and Matthieu launched the infamous language assessment startup in Paris, France, to serve both SMEs and large corporations across a number of industries.
Conceived in Paris
Since the beginning, Pipplet wanted to highlight the importance of workplace communication. So how does one turn the notion of communication into an entrepreneurial project? Pipplet.
Pipplet connects professional language communication skills and recruitment into one simple solution that reinforces innovation, is easy to use, and supports agile practices.
Since our inception, the tool has been a useful integration for a number of our clients’ recruitment processes, and we are happy to have taken the direction of targeting businesses.
Co-founder, Matthieu Herman has been looking forward to this day and finds it an integral part of Pipplet’s history, even if not initially intended for businesses. “We thought of Pipplet for individuals at first, and the first version of our language proficiency test was very different,” Matthieu says. “It was only years of research, encounters, trial and errors that led us to what we currently offer to the assessment industry. If it meets success now with recruiters worldwide, it's only because we have listened to them carefully and crafted the best tool to cover their needs. We still do every single day to make our service even better!” Matthieu ends by saying.
The five-year mark is one to commemorate, and we’re proud to have reached this point in our history. With no sign of slowing down anytime soon, we know that the next five years we’ll bring more to the industry.
Since being acquired by ETS Global BV, we have picked up momentum and have been on the radar of many favorable international companies. One of our main objectives over the next few years is that “all recruiters, worldwide, are aware of Pipplet and its benefits,” Baptiste Derongs, co-founder of Pipplet notes. He then finishes by adding, “even though we offer a great service, we still want to do more. We have plans in motion to unveil the most complete oral communication test in the next five years.”

Pipplet is a company whose values extend beyond just the product. It’s also about creating a culture that supports a work-life balance and wonderful memories between colleagues. Nada, who oversees sales, has been with Pipplet since 2017 and remembers one of her fondest moments with Pipplet.
"My best memory at Pipplet was my first day. I arrived at Pipplet and the founders welcomed me so nicely. Baptiste was giving me a debrief, explaining Pipplet in a lot of detail, and all on paper... I had not understood anything," Nada says laughing. But even from that day on, she knew that she had made a great decision joining Pipplet.
As we at Pipplet reminisce over the first five years, it’s important that we also focus on the next five years. We look forward to devoting the same level of commitment that has defined our reputation for the first few years.
