Naming a company is a significant milestone, especially in the SaaS field. Indeed, the naming process that went into creating ‘Pipplet’ involved lots of reflection and debate. We adored the name Pipplet, and we believe it represents our company and the next-generation language evaluation. However, when it comes to the revolutionary language test that we offer, it’s time to make a change.

Pipplet is happy to introduce the new name for our language skills certification, FLEX Fluency Exam.

The same intuitive, innovative, time-saving online language certification that measures candidates’ professional language skills… but in new and improved packaging.

You spoke, we listened

Although the name Pipplet represents what we achieve with our service- ease of access, ergonomics, quality evaluation- we realize that for our clients in the sectors of language education and job training, a test’s name must give a purely professional image to their candidates and trainees. A name that still demonstrates modernity and user-friendliness, but that also exemplifies that the language tests offered by Pipplet are CPF-certified and thoroughly evaluated.

Which is why the language certifications offered by Pipplet, formerly known as the Pipplet Test, will be from now on distributed as the FLEX Fluency Exam. Training centers will be able to use FLEX as a part of their training programs, whether as a diagnostic measure, an assessment to keep track of progress, or a final evaluation. Either way, fully certified and fully professional.

Pipplet, the behind-the-scenes magic

So, perhaps this leaves readers wondering… will Pipplet change the name of its company, too?

No. What must be underlined here is that the name of our product, the language test, is changed, but the name of our service stays the same.

A candidate, when taking the exam, has the first-hand experience of accessing the online interface and responding to the scenario-based questions. Behind the scenes, however, there is a team of support for both clients and test-takers, a carefully thought-out technical design, a network of native-language expert evaluators, our internal quality control, and the research and product development that goes into the creation of new questions and exams. This innovation that occurs ‘below the surface’ is what Pipplet is all about. Clients receive the excellent Pipplet experience and service, with access to the FLEX Fluency Exam.

What is a Fluency Exam?

The name ‘FLEX’ was not chosen arbitrarily; in fact, it was selected with the Pipplet mission in mind. FLEX differentiates itself from other language tests via its rebellion of the multiple-choice format and evaluation methods that only test academic concepts. In testing real, practical communication skills in a professional context, FLEX is essentially what its name designates: a (FL)uency (EX)am.

Competences tested by flex exam

Pipplet remains confident that when it comes to testing language skills, distinguishing between knowledge of theoretical aspects and practical aspects is essential in determining fluency. Training centers can rest assured that they will receive certified and reliable results for their trainees that shed light on their real level of language fluency.
