Nicolas Aimez

Previously VP of sales at ADP HR Services, we are extremely proud to welcome Nicolas Aimez to the Pipplet Team to develop large accounts while leading our commercial sales efforts.

Founded in 2015, Pipplet offers foreign language skills assessment services by native experts for recruiters and HR professionals.

Pipplet has digitized the language evaluation process of many recruiting firms and training organizations, such as Smart Recruiters, Kering, and MindMaze (read MindMaze’s story with Pipplet here ) to name a few. As we move forward, we hope to partner with professionals who are experienced in large business accounts with decisions makers in HR.

We recently met up with Nicolas Aimez, ADP’s former EMEA Vice President, to talk about his experience and reasons for joining Pipplet’s team in October 2017.

Nicolas Aimez, could you introduce yourself briefly to our audience?

After a postgraduate training in human resources, I immediately joined a French startup that was the first to market HR tools in France, Europe & Canada. These first few commercial and operational successes in France led to further success in Brussels, then Toronto and London, before I joined the ADP group. My career at ADP, from the very beginning, has been oriented towards large international accounts that are eager to make global choices for their payroll information systems & human resources. In the wake of such successes, I then turned to strategic management of American and European enterprise clients — with a team spread across Europe — to develop sustainable business relationships with these groups.

What interested you about Pipplet?

I found Pipplet to be an ambitious concept: a desire to completely renew foreign language assessment. It’s a universal service! The majority of companies around the world need employees with a mastery of foreign languages. So in short, I was basically motivated by international ambition.

I also found Pipplet to be an alliance of that which is technological and human which is a perfect mix in the field of HR. The platform is available 24 hours a day through any tool, but the skills assessment is provided by native-language professionals, providing the precision and finesse that algorithms currently can not offer. I believe this is an approach that makes a lot of sense, particularly with languages.

Why did you choose to join Pipplet? What do you think you bring to the table?

In addition to the strengths that I’ve mentioned about Pipplet, I also loved meeting with the associates. The exchanges that I had with Adrien, Baptiste, and Matthieu helped me see Pipplet as something more than an interesting project; Pipplet presented me with a personal adventure.

Furthermore, I seemed to match the profile of what Pipplet was looking for so we quickly identified and matched synergies with goals and found that I could be of help.

I plan to bring my experience in large account management to an international environment. Although Pipplet has managed to negotiate well and built a client-base in the now, I see that the company is now evolving and moving into a new arena with much larger players. With this new territory comes longer decisions cycles, a multitude of different players, and complex contracts. Add the international variable and this can become a complicated headache. Often times, these contracts deal with companies that may have locations in 15 countries with many different actors such as local players, heads of HR, and groups’ head offices. I have full confidence in Pipplet’s ability to address these types of players but I also believe that I can speed up this process while creating discussions so that Pipplet can grow faster and more efficiently.

Can you tell us a little more about your vision after partnering with Pipplet?

In the first half of 2018, I will focus my efforts on large French accounts. The second half of the year will be directed towards the rest of Europe in order to standardize Pipplet’s assessments as an industry standard in France and the rest of Europe!

We could not be more excited about welcoming Nicolas Aimez to the Pipplet Team. Remember to stay tuned by hitting that follow button!
